Four species of Eustoma (Eustoma exaltatum, Eustoma barkleyi, Eustoma grandiflorum, and Eustoma russellianum) have been described at various times. However, they are currently classified as a single species, Eustoma exaltatum, with two subspecies, Eustoma exaltatum subsp. exaltatum and Eustoma exaltatum subsp. russellianum.
