There was lots of excitement in the neighborhood and on our street this morning, a young black bear was roaming around, I saw him come up the driveway, DH went out and chased him away, but within a few minutes that little bugger was in the back yard after the feeder in the willow, we made lots of noise but he wouldn't leave, then the dogs next door got in on it, barking like crazy and running around. Finally I told DH to get the hose with the power wash, he aimed at the bear and he didn't like that, he left the willow but moved to the spruce tree, and went up there about 3/4 of the way up, he stayed there for a couple of hours. I kept an eye on him and he finally got back down and was cleaning up the seeds he knocked on the ground, and licked up any little bits of suet that was on the ground. He was very stubborn and didn't want to leave, DH got the hose again and that finally annoyed him enough that he climbed over the fence and hasn't been back, he may come back tonight, but no more feeders until they den up for the winter.
I didn't think to get a photo when he was on the ground, we like to scare them off as quickly as possible so they don't get in more trouble and get shot.
