Congratulations on being able to grow zinnias from the seeds you have saved. You can easily modify your present techniques to breed your own zinnias by marking your favorite zinnia plants in some way (you could tie a piece of colored yarn to your favorites) and by saving seeds from your favorites only, you will see improvements. You could cross-pollinate your favorites to make further improvements.
