I do have woodpeckers in the front yard that come to the suet feeder. I put a small suet(hot pepper) inside a small suet feeder and put the small feeder into the big suet feeder. I also have a strong metal feeder I put peanuts in for the blue jays. Actually the blue jays help keep the squirells away, once they adopt your yard as their territory, I have seen them chasing squirells. Also I have seen Mocking Birds chasing squirells. If any should get near the nest. Rolling on the floor laughing

The feeders with the ports don't work around here because they just hang upside down and pull the bar up. Rolling on the floor laughing
