I've had Ruby Claret since 2014. It has been an exceptionally reliable bloomer and that is even with the fact that it is planted under a tree. Because of this I can't say whether it holds its color after a hot, sunny day.

I don't have many red daylilies but this one is a favorite. It multiples well for me, blooms a good long time and the flowers are really pretty. I've never been able to take a picture that represents the true color of the flower. It either looks cherry red or very dark and the true color is somewhere in between.

It does bloom midseason for me. The flowers are also on the large side although probably not 6" for me. I do think the scapes are taller for me. The flowers are held well above the foliage and the size of the flower seems proportionate to the scape to my eye. The scapes do lean a bit but that's most likely due to the lack of sun.

Overall all I'd heartily recommend this cultivar. Any daylily that blooms well in shady conditions should have a place in most gardens.
