Laurie - I believe Moraea Aristata is a native plant of Cape Town in South Africa. I am surprised that it is endangered because mine have multiplied well. It is easy to purchase in Australia. I purchased mine from Garden Express but it also available from Van Diemen Quality bulbs, Tesselaar and Ray's Unusual Plants, which sells 22 Moraea species.
