I had the opposite problem, Scott. Not exactly a grass but the most beautiful groundcover ever - Lithodora "Gold n' Sapphires".

It is evergreen, and supposed to be hardy to zone 5, but the instructions said to cover it over with mulch over winter. I remember thinking to myself "but surely it will die from lack of light if it is evergreen - anyhow I am zone 6b", so ignored the instructions and it died. I say "it" but I actually purchased a few of them *Blush* D'Oh! . I think I have 1 branch of 1 plant left still alive.
So gorgeous, but not worth the effort. If you have to cover a plant with winter mulch I do not agree it is hardy in that zone.
Gardening: So exciting I wet my plants!
