Im digging my dahlias.
about half done.
preparing for storage.
i know the necks that connect the tuber to the crown will get more brittle as they cure.

how do you handle them at this stage... do you lean them on one side? so they all lean in same direction? do you give them room to spread out? and how do you know they have cured sufficiently? i winged it last year, didn't take any notes b/c I only had half a dozen, but went completely bonkers shopping this spring and now have ~200 to go in the fridge. i have a friend who owns a good sized produce market with a walk in box that looks like an isle at costco who lets me store bare roots of various plants, but I've never had to pack away this much stuff
