The after-effects still reverberate here. I went to the feed store and the guy asked me if I've seen many fawns this year. Well, had to explain that there weren't many deer left in my area until the last 2 weeks, when we started seeing more. But I've only seen one fawn here this year...and that was after those extra deer moved in here. He said the usual spring fawns barely even happened at all this year in the whole area,. And some does have had fawns just recently...late. Kind of reminded me of documentaries I've seen about poor undeveloped countries where the girls grow up too small and undernourished. And when they're married off very young, it creates a lot of problems. Girls who are too small for their age due to poverty shouldn't ever be married very young. It creates many medical problems for both the girls and their babies. Poor deer here...so small and scrawny looking! I do what I can for them...that's all I can do. We've had a small amount of rain, still waiting for a decent amount. 60% chance now, 70% tonight.
I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority. E. B.White
Integrity can never be taken. It can only be given, and I wasn't going to give it up to these people. Gary Mowad
