Do the leaves have an unpleasant odor if you crush them? Because it looks a lot like Tree Of Heaven (Ailanthus altissima) to me.

If the the leaves don't smell bad, there are several things it could be, but it's a bit hard to tell just by the leaves.

Could be a species of hickory (Carya, same genus as pecans, but more common in Michigan)
Could be a sumac. If so, it's most likely Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina)
Could even be Black Walnut (Juglans nigra), but that doesn't look quite right for that.
