Kathy, I am glad the Schom is opening nicely for you! Smiling
About the Lycaste - mine never get any cool treatment, they are sitting in the lower tiers of the greenhouse and they can't help but getting watered.
But, I do wonder - watching the gigantic leaves on an Anguloa slowly dying off, the leaves do shield the pseudobulbs/medium in the pot from getting too soaked. Just a thought, I have no idea if that is the key for sure.
