Ronnie: sounds like you are having lotsa fun readying! I have a few more presents that came yesterday to wrap and I have 3 outstanding. I'll get there!

As for dahlias I tossed a bunch and ordered 8-10. I forget which number. But I viewed it as a bit of an insurance. Plus I'm over winter in my head and looking forward to spring!

AM: we have power but 4 of the other small towns in the vicinity are without. Makes you wonder if it was weather related or if it's something else more nefarious at work whatever that is. We usually don't loose power in the winter so an anomaly for our region. This is the second big power outage in the last week.

I got my shredding done! Compost heap will be happy! I'm glad to have that done and will throw the bags in my can I use for rain barrel purpose when it's warm out. If I were smart I'd fill three 5 gal pails and get them thawing in house for my water jugs that are about out. In fact maybe I'll go do that now. I've got lots of snow and plants to water soon.

Happy day all!
Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. For those few months, you're not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don't have the rest of the year. You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. Summer just opens the door and lets you out. – Deb Caletti: Honey, Baby, Sweetheart
