You all have posted some pretty food photos!!
I went back and read most of the posts ( and looked at all the photos )
That sauced steak looked fine to me. Anna did you sell all your pies?

I had to buy a shopping cart! $82-84 ( I forget ) Made in America. Good brand. Good reviews. What a piece of junk! The wheels are plastic..not rubber. I wonder if I can find rubber to fit when these fall apart. I give them a few months.. hope springs eternal. The instructions said to use a plier to bend the cotter pin that holds on the wheel.. I could do it with my hand. ..DID do it with my hand....
I detest grocery shopping ( butcher and baker fine -- but not the supermarkets+ yuk(. My husband loved it (not that he always brought home the stuff as I requested.. he tended to reach for the "new and improved" ( which never was ) ONE solid plain cream cheese..morphed into TWO whipped tubs of strawberry flavored ... Anyway, now that he has passed..it's up to me. Oh Joy... I get in and get out quick..( COVID is on the rise and very few masks ) but oh boy - carrying the bags out of the truck ..over gravel and then the huge lumpy bumpy flagstones .. and up the stone front steps (I covered the normally used and easier entrance completely (thru the screened porch) in a tarp to keep the spring pollen out - I know I can't do the furniture emptying of the porch .. and the pressure washing of pounds of pollen by myself.. ...and so this year that porch will get windows instead of being screened in. Anyway, that leaves the front entrance... and carrying in gallon jugs of water ..canned and cartooned things..veggies. etc.. to the truck and back ...across the flags and up .. has my quads screaming..(the arms aren't happy either)... that cart construction is an embarrassment.. but at least I can load it with the heavy stuff and pull it into the house..one trip hopefully .. Thethought that got me started on this rant ..was that I so enjoyed the small accounting of the trek in Nepal ..but no way could I do those steps..up..up..up..and for sure not with a pack.
Mores the pity. I remember the Duomo in Florence ..climbing those steps up up up....and so narrow a space, and could not turn back with people behind.. and that was almost 20 years ago.

Food..I use a regular old fashioned 4 sided grater .. to zest lemons and such..it works. I have had skinned a finger (or three) when the pieces of cheese or ginger get small. I fixed a turkey soup last night.. smells great. Didn't taste ( got done close to midnight.. started it real late ) . Will add rice to it.. now that winter is really here.. making stews and soups.

Emme asked for peas and pasta ..added browned browned sirloin to that sauce. She was happy. I didn't take photos. I have been eating a lot of healthy choice steamers.. overpriced..small volumes ..but do the trick when I don't feel like cooking for one. A plus is that I lost 7-8 pounds over the last few months .. and I feel healthier and the ole jeans fit better! I had started watching the calories when we got back from Florida in May.... and so have lost closer to 15 -16 pounds total. Whoopie!
Don't squat with yer spurs on!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved
