I would think you could bring it in and overwinter, I have a Turmeric plant Curcuma domestica syn. Curcuma longa, that I started from some rhizomes that I picked up at the organic food store. I bring it in every fall and let it go dormant, comes back every spring, finally bloomed after 4-5 years, beautiful white flowers looking like the same shape as Tiffany's.
