I should have taken some more photos before I rearranged my coleus pots. With the lack of rain here, most of my daylilies are needing their foliage cut way back and most are done blooming for the season, so I'm moving lots of the coleus pots out to the front to fill in the bare spots. Since I planted 5 coleus in gallon pots and put them in the large square containers, it's easy to take out a couple and use them to fill in along the front sidewalk. Here are the 2 remaining square containers with 3 coleus in each instead of 5 and the large round center container. I think the 3 coleus will really do better being less crowded and will fill in the spaces in a week or so.
This is a shot of some of the pots of coleus along the front sidewalk, Once I saw that all my plants were blooming about a month ahead time, I planted some zinnia, cosmos, marigolds and celosia in pots and am slowly moving them to the front area too. Hopefully with the mums and salvias I have and the moss rose and lantanas there will still be color through the next few months and into fall.
Here you can see how bare some areas would be without the coleus.
The Heart coleus I started from cuttings are still small, but are tolerating being in full sun in the 105 degree heat fairly well.
