Just thought I would share... AV Golden Dragon (aka RS - Zolotoi Drakon ) is another Russian African violet. While shopping, I picked up a lovely, blooming AV 'Golden Dragon' at the nursery, but marked 'spt' in pen on the tag.

I believe what I ended up with is likely a sport. The 'true' bloom of Golden Dragon is pure white, with the gold center (stamens). Here is the link to named version...

At the time I picked this up, I noticed (when cashing out) that he had remarked the tag, but was not sure why at the time... until I got home and looked up the data for the plant... then found the bloom appears to be a sport.

Not complaining, I love the blooms. But... does anyone know: if I take a leaf cutting - is it likely I will get the same 'white with pink' ... or more likely I will get the named variety, the pure white? Thinking

Really have not dealt with many sports / mutations over the years - for the most part, when I take a cutting, I have pretty much just gotten the same as the parent. Shrug!
Life is what happens while you are making other plans.
