Got my questionanswered, army worm caterpillar. That explains the chewed up leaves that I have been seeing for the past 3 weeks. I guess that I will have to hand pick each morning. I see that it is also a pest of Florida lawns. I realized that this is the kind of "worm" that you see in corn. Normally I would expect to see slugs on the Amaryllis, so this is a new one for me. !
