'Heaven's Portals' was one of the first daylilies I purchased from a commercial seller back in March 2013. A small little plot outside Dothan called Whiddon's Daylilies. I remember being so impressed with the little plot of daylilies and the older couple selling them. There was not a daylily in bloom, there were pecan trees shading them and I was just buying a few cheap ones based on the descriptions they provided. I did not know any better, but the ones they suggested mostly turned out to be nice strong plants. I have had this one ever since along with one or two others. This daylily in my garden normally blooms in April and does rebloom. I had to move the clump last year because a rose bush next to it was getting to large. I missed a fan and now need to dig and move that fan. At the time I thought it was a fancy daylily, it had an eye, not just a solid color. I have divided the clump and sold them at club sales. Multiplies very well.

Just a beautiful plant normally blooms above the foliage.
