Yep they were calloused and planted. They never had a chance to root because even without watering they simply rotted. When they arrived they looked like the ones they sell in the grocery story, which are packaged in plastic and look (and feel) very slimy.

The pads were listed as ficus-indica. They were to replace pads I had rooted a few months before and passed on to someone else. Regretting passing those on now!!

I've been looking for ficus-indica for pads and fruit but that's because it's the main one listed for culinary use. I'm open to suggestions on other varieties though.
