Congrats on the baby artichoke, Tom. I have lost all 3 of my plants....1 to rabbits, and 2 to some larvae-type creatures that seem to settle in where the central bud is starting to form. Within a very short time, the main bud is toast, and the rest of the plant soon follows. I need to try to figure out what these guys are that are doing this--had the same problem last year just as my first artichoke was developing.
