The peony branch was trimmed of a tree peony last fall sitting in a burn pile all winter until I noticed new eyes growing just from the bark cut removed section 2' above ground level from a tree peony. The dead branch is not the root..a branch was dead …it's tough to explain or describe.
I lifted it from the soil today to get a clearer pic. I have never seen this growth from a dead branch before with hollowed out bottom with pink eyes showing.
