Should you decide to tackle it's removal by hand just be sure to get all it's roots or it will come back. I had a huge chickweed problem and went after it by hand. 3rd try and it's just about gone. I don't bother with it if it's growing through the "grass". It will go away on it's own or not. As long as the "lawn" is green and I keep it mowed I'm good.
