Welcome to the site, @Michael1123!
It is a Western Conifer Seed Bug. They actually eat garden [insect] pests, so they are beneficial. Don't touch them though; they'll spray you with a very foul-smelling liquid. It smells terrible. We get them a lot around here, and they're very annoying because of how easily they get into the house, but they've never bothered any of our plants. They come from pinecones supposedly, because that's where the eggs are laid.
