No it has no drainage problems at all! It does not need a shrubbery either. The water is called a moat! Specially designed to keep the enemy out, as they would have to swim through that, before getting anywhere near. I fully realize it has only been there since 1123 AD, so it may be a bit modern for some people!
Sorry did not realize that was before America was even known!
