I don't agree that cliftoncat's picture is wrong. That color is particularly difficult to photograph and highly affected by variances in lighting. All of the pictures of Blue Que, including cliftoncat's, show distinctive veining in the falls and the beards are the same when looked at in isolation.

Irises of that color also have a tendency to change shade as they age. These pictures are all of the same flower, just different lighting or flower age.
