Thanks, guys! Helen, I think Minnie Shaylor caught my eye in the first place because of that touch of red in the center.

I'm pretty sure my Charlie's White mystery is solved? The Duchesse de Nemours I bought two years ago finally bloomed. So now I can tell you that whatever Lowe's was selling as Charlie's White looks and smells like a Duchesse de Nemours. (That's her in the picture.) I don't know if I could tell two white/cream peonies apart based on looks, but the scent is distinctive -- fresher than other fragrant peonies I'm familiar with.
