Well, I badly sprained an ankle on the 18th. Simply tripped over my own two feet. Have been in a boot since then. Had it x-rayed again last week as there was a small bone fragment, but they aren't worried about it now. Tell me it will be about 6 weeks to heal fully. Meanwhile, I didn't use my cane at all today. I've been gardening a bit with a plastic bag over the boot. But I have to rely on DH to do any digging for me. Can't drive a car because of the boot. But there's a handbell festival about 2 hours away starting on Thursday evening. A friend will drive my car and get me, the clinician who's staying with me tomorrow, and herself down to Kingston. Can't drive with the boot. I'm thinking I might be able to start wearing a shoe, but I sure wouldn't want to have to drive that far. Anyway, the boot and cane are getting us wheelchair assistance in airports next week when we go to Norway. Our tour is self-directed and can be as strenuous or as easy as we wish. Got medical clearance last week to go.
My gardening is way behind, but I got my house whipped into shape to host the handbells for a potluck end-of-year party last night and I've got an extensive list of the equipment we are taking. Not as much as it could be since there are only 5 of us going. My friend rang with us last year but directed at another church, but she'll ring with the group she directed. (She moved to Halifax almost a year ago) and flew in tonight. Then, I"ll come home after the Festival concert on Saturday and Monday we fly out to Norway.
