Leslie, In the spring I treat the beds with grub control that is made for lawns. I use Bayers, but any product that has the active ingredient Imidacloprid should work. The best time to treat is after there are several nights without frost in the spring. Or as they say here, when the forsythia blooms, treat for borers. There are both liquid and granular forms of the control, I didn't get good results from using the liquid.

Yes, I still have Cotillion Gown, it's so much nicer then I can capture in a picture. Funny how some irises are like that, and then there are a few that look better in picture than in real life.
