Oslo, What you purchased was a leaf cutting growing by itself. After awhile they will produce a new plant or two in your case. They some times stay small the first generation. They seem to grow best staying together and will get bigger each generation. Looks to be Sansevieria masoniana. If so, they are know to grow large root systems that end up breaking pots.
