By now, everybody has heard of the Pacific series and the Lord of the Rings series of Sempervivum. However, have you heard of the King Arthur series? While not done by a single breeder, there are a number of semps that have been named after the characters in the British legend. I've spent a little bit of time to track some of these down and now formally calling it a series here. Hopefully there will be some other members to the series that I missed. I don't know if any of the breeders listed for these had this series in mind, but as collectors, we can treat them as a series. Alas, I could not find one for King Arthur, Sir Gawain, King Uther, Avalon, Sir Ector (Arthur's foster father), Sir Beaumains, Morgana or Mordred. Perhaps there are more out there from the legend.

Semps in the LKA series:

Albion................(breeder Ben J. M. Zonneveld, NL, 1980)
Bedivere............(breeder Ed Skrocki, 1973)
Elaine.................(breeder Andre Smits, 1999, Belgium)
Excalibur............(breeder Ed Skrocki, 1972)
F1 Excalibur.......(breeder Gary Gossett, 1997)
Galahad............ (breeder Ed Skrocki, 1973)
Isolde.................(breeder Andre Smits, 1982, Belgium)
Lady Guinevere.(breeder Andre Smits 2002, Belgium)
Lancelot............ (breeder Ed Skrocki, 1974)
Merlin................ (breeder David Ford, 1980)
Tristam..............(breeder Ed Skrocki, 1973) (incorrectly called Tristan sometimes)

I have Merlin and Galahad in my current collection, quite by accident.
