I planted this pineapple 2 or 3 years ago, always moved it outside during the summer and completely forgot about it in a dimly lit room (no water) for like 5 months or more this winter, but it somehow not only survived, but flowered AND pollinated during that time. Moved outside for the summer again and I've been fertilizing it occasionally with a fairly balanced fertilizer. This is about what the fruit looks like today. I believe it's a smooth cayenne because I've heard that's almost exclusively the kinds of pineapple you get at mainland US supermarkets, which is where I bought the original pineapple I grew this from.

Does anyone have a rough estimate of how much longer I'm looking at before it's harvestable? 2-3 months? More?

The main fruit body is maybe just a little bit smaller than a closed adult fist. And don't worry, I removed that weed vine after taking the pic!
