I was recently reading about the very same results of studies on diverticulitis and diverticulosis and eating seeds. It's my understanding that they are actually conditions of the lower intestine, and the cause is inflammation. Not sure if that's the same information you have. I have no medical background, just always reading and learning about health, mostly from a nutritional standpoint.
It does involve the colon aka big intestine I think, I have diverticulitis and osis,.but I eat things with seeds. It does flair up every once in a while.
