The Florida weather people do hype up the storms, which is why I don't listen to them. At this time of year I check the NOAA and also Weather Underground for hard facts rather than hype.
I vividly remember my first Hurricane, Charley, in 2004, and going to see some friends down the street because everyone in my house was in a frenzy two days ahead. My friends just laughed and said - oh you must never listen to the weather people, just come to the beach with us and have a drink. They were all relaxed... and I also became that way. I haven't watched the likes of Joe Cantore since.....
