My tomatoes have been doing pretty good for most of the season, no pests and good growth. However a couple of weeks ago we went out of town and someone turned off the water so they went at least 4 days in 100+ weather with no water (high stress). The problem was fixed and they recovered but when I got home from the trip 1.5 weeks later I notices that parts of the plants leaves were browning on the tips and there were little black spots on the heavily effected leaves. There were also individual leaves drying to a crisp right up until they met with the stem. Some of the plants have been devastated to where the plants are stunted and slightly discolored, while others seem much less affected. I haven't seem much signs of webs forming (maybe one or two little things) but I am thinking spider mites? For contexted they have been in 100+ weather for about 4 weeks with two weeks being about 110 (they have been partially to completely covered by 50% shade cloth depending on the plant). I also noticed is occurring to some of the pepper plants in my front yard about 6 weeks ago that I just tossed.
Any insight on if my assumption are correct and if not what it might be would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
