That's a REALLY long time to establish itself! I started with a DF in 2018 and I think it bloomed the first year.
I appreciate the way this cultivar branches in an array of buds, and (in a good year) the budcount is great. It is one of the later ones to bloom and has a decent length of bloom season. I have not seen any surprise rebloom- I always hope. It did really well last year and not as well this year. Here it is June 25th. Budcount was disappointing. (Maybe my clump is getting too big for good performance.)
The color looks blue on some days and when it's overcast, and rosy in the sun. The darker "lavender" band, combined with the pin-stripe, gives a very stripey effect on some days. Height is never 48" here; usually around 30 or so, which puts the lower blooms in the foliage, unfortunately. Pod and pollen fertile. Sometimes proliferates. I think it's the general plant habit that makes this plant sought-after.
