Hey, Stush. I LOVE your porch, and happy looking plants! There are hooks in the ceiling of mine but at this point, no room for a swing. Is your wife a plant-o-phile also, or is that all you? In the pic with the flag, what is the pretty variegated shrub in the bed? I see we're kin from the "wall of foliage" family. Is that a rain barrel in the 1st pic? Can't believe I caught MORE rain in my buckets yesterday. Amazing!
It's not very clear in the above pic I put up yesterday, but at the very top is a jar of water that's tied to the support post with fishing line. It's full of sweet potato vine and a big Coleus leaf. The vines are starting to grow out onto the fishing line that I strung around the poles and the roof beam. I'm liking it so much, yesterday I put a jar at the other end and hung one from one of those swing hooks in the ceiling. (What else to do with the patch of it that's still alive in the flower bed from last year - oops?) In a month it should be really cool and even more jungly. (Spell check, I disagree, that's a word. If people know what you mean, it's a word. You do know what I mean, ...right?)
And I had gotten so used to looking at that piece of bread, I "noticed" it after I looked just now to see if you could see the jar. If anyone's interested, no birds came to eat it that way... Not all experiments are successful but the only ones that succeed are those that are attempted.
Thanks for the pics!
