Lisa: I have not been to Betty's Azalea Ranch for a long time---but I used to like it. It used to have a lot of Azaleas, Hellebores, Peonies. It is quite large. Also a lot of different kinds of mulch. My preference for mulch is the largest size nuggets of pine bark and they always used to have them. Address: Betty's Azalea Ranch · Map · 12507 Lee Hwy. Fairfax, VA 22030. Directions · (703) 830-8687. . My treat for myself is to go to Wegmans on the same street, but on the other side of the street. I like their sushi, and I also buy their raw oysters and dry sea scallops (not swimming in fluid). Both rather expensive. They also have bone marrow----- I do not have Wegman's close by. I also like their bread. Love their garlic bread (I think Italian?) and other breads. The used to have all kinds of dishes that you can choose from and eat there.-------I do not know if they have them now----as I said I have not been there for a long time-----
Nearby is also Costco (I am not a member) and Hope Depot. Also Merryfield Garden Center. The one in Fairfax is a lot bigger than the one in Falls Church (I went there for tomatoes and pepper and Hellebore last Sprins; did not find anything), but I found more things at the Betty's Azalea Ranch.

Rick: Long time ago I heard someone say that to keep deer eating your produce or flowers you have to build a fence surrounding those plants that is high enough and the fence should not have gaps through which the deer can see through and high enough so they cannot see even when they stand on their hind legs. In other words, about 8 feet tall and no gaps. The deer will not jump a fence if they cannot see where they will land.------
