Elena,
I don't like to loose a plant, so even if I may have to replace it eventually I'll try my best to rescue it. This last summer as I posted before I ran the risk of loosing my entire rose collection because our wells had dried up. So I lifted almost every single one of them. Since they had been water-stressed, I placed them inside my coool greenhouse in 8 gallon tubs., to avoid winter die-back and allow myself to monitor them this coming growing season. A huge proportion of 250 bushes have already put out new growth as spring approaches. I had new arrivals amongst them. These had the greatest uphill, but still they are doing reasonably well. So my attitude is: given the adversity, what can I learn from each rose as it performs its restoration journey? I may have 5 or 6 all in all bushes that look dead. I'll only know in about 2 months from now.
