The garage is not an optimum greenhouse. Too dark. So, to keep things kind of in a semi-dormant state, or slow the growth down, I cut the leaves. I also do that to my Alocasias in the pots. It's their "rest" time. The temp is set at 58. The building has passive solar heat; the heat collectors cover the windows. The Spousal Unit made it. Does a good job, but sure cuts down on the natural light.
