No, I didn't take a chance from unknown sources. I did buy some from a dealer in Louisiana. Almost Eden. They don't have a big selection but nice plants that are well rooted and packed well. Some IDs are questionable or unknown. Some have bloomed and you are right. By the time it offers blooms, I am delighted.
The past few years have been hard on the plants. We had a week of below freezing temps. I was not home due to a broken hip and leg. Oddly the epis endured that hardship only to have this past summer of intense heat and severe drought. I feel gratified to see the few blooms they offer after all that.
Sadly I don't know the answer for locating a dealer in your area.
