To me it sounded like some sort of scheme for you to contact whoever this person is, ( do we really know they are from Chamblee? ) and give them your order number. Then they would act like they couldn't find it but they ask for your credit card etc info so " they could refund you" . Then they would have your payment info and just proceed to use it to charge you again and promptly disappear.
I bet you guys can't tell I'm a pretty suspicious person.
Teacup, you may describe yourself as suspicious, but I believe the suspicion is warranted here. Chamblee's (or the people behind it) defrauded dozens of customers, AT LEAST. Those are the ones we know about, who found the consumer review sites or BBB and posted about their experience. I'd be willing to bet there are scores of ADDITIONAL customers who were swindled who did not find their way to the review sites. I believe Chamblee's are now outreaching because they are being investigated, and want to show "good faith" in the eyes of whoever it is they are being investigated by, that way they can try to mitigate the damages and claim they are "doing their best" to fulfill the orders (or whatever their story is). I would advise to anyone defrauded by Chamblee's that they do NOT make contact with them, that rather they pursue the channels I outlined in a previous post today. (Disclaimer: Ultimately everyone should do what they WANT to do, according to a careful assessment of their particular situation, and weighing the pros and cons of communicating with Chamblees at this point. )
