I originally made this one 2' long just using 3/4" PVC tubing, parts were about $11 to make the stand at Home Depot. I didn't glue the pieces in case I wanted to change it, and for spring seeds, I now extend it to 4' long and hang 2 of the lights on it. They're light enough that even not glued, the PVC holds them without a problem. The chains was my cheap way to be able to raise or lower the lights when needed just by wrapping it around the center tube.

This is the LED Grow Light I bought at Amazon, then just bought a 2nd one a few years later when I wanted to extend it to 4'. There's a short connector that goes between them so there's only power cord to deal with, and those metal rings come with it where I attach the chains. Hooked it up to a timer I had laying around and I've been using it for at least 5 years now. It's what I'm using for the adenium seeds and they're growing without any problems. There's an east-facing window about 6' to the left of where the seedlings are, but they don't reach for the window light at all, the LEDs seem to be enough. This setup works great for all my spring annuals too. They do give off a weird color though, but that's not an issue at all for me.

Here I started moonflower seeds, these are about 2 months old. I've had them bloom under these, many of the annuals start to bloom within the 2 months they're inside as well, so I've been pretty happy with this setup. I wanted something flexible, and this does everything I want.
