Now I've been MIA. Volunteering at 23 concerts during the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival (and attending a few more). Then out of town for a few days with the antique Porsche to an event in Boston. Was gonna catch up on everything once I returned home, but found myself with 10 yr-old grandtwins for 2 days while DH was at a conference. Then a day where I volunteered at a food bank, taught a violin lesson and, in the evening, interviewed the two finalists for the music director job at my church. (I direct the handbells). Thursday, a good friend got married at city hall and asked me to play my viola to the 6 of us plus the judge. Then celebrating with a bottle of champagne in their hotel suite and a lovely dinner at the hotel. Wonderful, but not exactly helping me to get caught up on things. I started doing that yesterday and I'm sure not finished.
Have barely looked at the garden, but foliar nems are appearing and I had them in such numbers last year that I decided I would just have to live with them. I'm just removing affected leaves (or cutting down whole plants if many leaves are affected) and dousing them with a H2O2 solution. Like many of you, we've had drought conditions for much of the summer, but for the last 2 weeks we've had quite a bit of rain and are thankful for that.
