No, unfortunately Marilyn, the berries are not edible, in fact they are even poisonous! But I find the plant very beautiful too!
Interesting is that it goes dormant in the summer and the first leaves emerge in Autumn, stay green and beautiful all winter long, frost doesn't seem to bother it, and then bloom in spring.
