It was a small sample size study, so probably didn't cost much. The small sample size maybe why it has disappeared into obscurity. The other possibility is that the pharmaceutical companies have managed to convince the tech companies to set their search algorithms such that all treatment alternatives to pharmaceutical products are harder to search.
Hydration and adequate protein intake are essential to fighting infections, and chicken soup helps with both. Hydration helps neutrophils (type of white blood cell) move through the gel matrix that makes up our connective tissue, and protein is required for the production of new white blood cells. If you don't like chicken soup, nobody's making you take it.😉
