I'll be interested to hear the results of your acidity experiment. I want to try something similar with one of my irises: build a double raised bed, add sulfur to one side, and then plant rhizomes on both sides and compare the bloom colors. (Don't know if I'll get this done this coming year---I was going to do it last year! )
