Thanks for the suggestions on the seed sites, I'm checking them all out now. One other question I've always wondered and finally remembered to ask-

Should I be growing intermediate or maybe even short day onions despite living where you'd plant "long day" onions normally?

An absolutely massive tree blocks the sun for the last few hours of the day for me, I'd say mid-summer the sunniest part of the garden gets, at best, 10 hours of sunlight. If the point of short/long day onion differences is true, should I not be planting short day onions? Since the sun isn't shining on them the full 14+ hour days in summer?
