Wow ... I can tell from your photo that your plant is big. I'm not sure how long the one has been planted in my yard, it was here when we moved here about 9 months ago. My plant is not very large at all, a single stem about 6' tall. I've never liked thorny/cactusy plants and I was going to dig this one out when we first moved in but a friend decided she didn't want it and once I saw the blooms I was hooked. Green Grin! I eventually might get my husband to re-locate it to a different area of the yard though ... it's right beside the walkway and if it grows wider it could be dangerous!

I was at Home Depot purchasing orchid bark a few days ago and saw that they had a couple of small Apple Cactus for sale ... was tempted to buy one but decided one was enough. Smiling
~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt!
~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot!
