I am more of a visual gardener when it come to tomatoes. If i see a tomato that looks ripe, i might give it a slight squeeze to make sure before i pluck it. But a daily squeeze routine for green tomatoes is not for me. So, I do not grow green tomatoes. Purple tomatoes seem to be easy to ID when they are ripe? They turn a deeper red or more of the tomato turns dark, I am not sure. Maybe i should pay more attention:)
