Someone asked me in another thread whether or not I had found any cultivars that were completely resistant in my very rust-prone garden. I don't spray any fungicides, so any rust-resistant cultivars I grow are likely going to be mostly resistant for others, too.

I started a thread awhile ago listing the cultivars that I had had success with in my battle against rust, but I can't find it now, so I am starting a new one in the hopes that it might be useful to someone.

I know the link to the Daylily Rust Database has been posted on this forum before, but here it is again:

https://www.daylilyrustdbase.o...

This searchable list provides a lot more scientific observations and data from many gardens for those looking for rust-resistant cultivars. I used it to find several that I have bought and recently planted.

I do have many daylilies that are promising after one season but are too new for me to include in the rust-free list. But so far these have been my most rust-resistant cultivars:

Bitsy
Blackberry Tart
Butterscotch Ruffles
Carlotta
Changeable as the Weather
Chicago Apache
Cosmopolitan
Desert Flame
Dynamite Returns
Evidence of Light
Frans Hals
Full Moon Rising
Going Bananas
Grape Velvet
Gypsy Rose Lee
Insider Trading
Key to My Heart
Laura Harwood
Lavender Stardust
Little Print
Lullaby Baby
Mardi Gras Parade
Neal Berrey
Omomuki
Orange Velvet
Pandora's Box
Prairie Blue Eyes
Royal Eventide
Samwise the Brave
Siloam Double Classic
So Lovely
Substantially Awesome
Super Purple
Take Me Along
When My Sweetheart Returns
Wild One
Witch's Thimble
Woodside Amethyst

My old list contained cultivars that had been very clean of rust for several years when I posted their names but have since succumbed, probably to different strains. I have many more dormants that have been mostly resistant, only showing rust at the very end of the season just before dying back. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these. Others have been clean for one season, but I feel I haven't had them long enough to include in this list. But these are the ones that according to my memory and my notes, have not shown a speck of rust here, ever, at least so far.

I've decided my thread needed a thumbnail, so here is Chicago Apache.
